Please share far and wide and help me to raise some money for the tender and respectful work of Devon Hospiscare: I was blown away by the integrity and kindness of their palliative care nurses. It takes really special people to walk someone home the way they do, every single day.
I am so proud of this EP: it has light, and shade, and each song feels like a little piece of my soul. I wrote the album while my beloved father James was terminally ill. Writing and recording the album was central to my grieving process: it gave me a forum to make sense of what was happening, and conversely, a focus outside of the grief. Any profits from the album will go towards the amazing work of this charity, and giving something back feels like a wonderful way to honour the memory of my dad.
Midnight’s Pillow, which was recorded at Studio 54 in Exeter, is a 5 track EP, written and recorded between January and June of 2018. Big thanks to Kimwei for his breathtaking guitar work, production and mixing skills, and patience! Thanks also to cellist Jo Hooper, who donated her beautiful cello sounds to the track Magpie.
Lots of love
